Half-Day Montessori Program
Our Half-Day Montessori Program at Petite Luminaries Montessori is a thoughtfully designed three-hour morning experience that gently introduces young children to a structured, nurturing learning environment.
This program focuses on building independence, confidence, and foundational social skills through hands-on, purposeful activities. Rooted in Montessori principles, children are encouraged to explore carefully prepared materials that support early language development, fine motor refinement, practical life skills, and sensory exploration.
The 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM schedule provides a balanced rhythm of independent work time, small-group connection, movement, and outdoor play. Within this calm and respectful environment, children learn to follow routines, strengthen concentration, and develop positive relationships with peers and educators.
Our Half-Day Montessori Program offers a meaningful introduction to school — fostering curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning from the very beginning.

Montessori Foundations in Action
Half-Day program children begin exploring key Montessori concepts through age-appropriate, tactile materials that engage their senses and build essential skills, including:
Fine motor skills (grasping, stacking, and manipulating objects)
Concentration and focus through structured activities
Problem-solving and early decision-making skills
Early Language & Communication
At this age, children experience rapid language growth. We support their development by:
Encouraging verbal expression and new vocabulary building
Introducing phonetic sounds through Montessori language materials
Incorporating songs, rhymes, and storytelling to make learning fun
Providing early exposure to the French language through interactive play
Practical Life & Independence
Our young learners develop self-sufficiency through everyday routines. They are encouraged to:
Dress and care for themselves (zipping, buttoning, washing hands)
Set up and tidy their space after activities
Practice meal etiquette (pouring, serving, and cleaning up)
These tasks foster coordination, responsibility, and confidence in their abilities.
Introduction to Math Concepts
Half-Day program students begin working with Montessori math materials that help them understand numbers and patterns.
Activities include:
Counting and number recognition
Sorting, matching, and sequencing
Hands-on activities using beads, blocks, and tactile materials
